DRA Mining, which was established in 2006, extends the services offered by DRA to include the needs of clients below ground level, from mine design to shaft development to contract operations and maintenance. It offers the following services:

• Mine design and mine planning
• Mining methods
• Materials handling
• Underground Infrastructure engineering

This department handles compressed air requirements, water reticulation and cooling and ventilation systems, underground electrical reticulation, EPCM services, mining construction, and management of contract mining.

Additional services, with the assistance of specialised service providers, include mine modelling and geology, rock mechanics, ventilation and social responsibility. DRA Mining also offers services in greenfield projects, feasibility studies, procurement of equipment and supplies, fabrication and erection, commissioning and training.
